Feb 2, 2016 - Ridgetown Campus Welcomes University of Guelph President, Dr. Franco Vaccarino

The University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus had the honour of hosting University of Guelph President, Dr. Franco Vaccarino, on his first visit to campus since becoming President.

Accompanying Dr. Vaccarino was Vice-President (Research), Dr. Malcolm Campbell, who has previously visited our campus and become familiar with our research priorities.

Following a student welcome, the events of the day included a guided campus tour, a staff luncheon, a staff and student Presidential Address, and the opportunity for staff and students to meet the President one-on-one.

In his address to staff and students, the President focused on the importance of serving the Ridgetown and broader community, service excellence, and renewal through strategic planning. He noted the important history and value of the Ridgetown Campus in supporting rural and agricultural stakeholders, as well as being an important campus of the University of Guelph - a global leader in agri-food research and education.
